Banany ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Banany mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive limited profile information from those providers (such as your name and email address).
Profile Information
You may optionally provide a phone number and upload a profile photo (avatar). Avatars are stored securely in our cloud storage.
Family & Household Data
The App allows you to create or join a family group. We store information about your family, including member names, roles (parent or nanny), and admin status.
Children's Information
Parents and nannies may add child profiles that include the child's name, birthday, sex, allergies, and an optional photo. This information is entered by adult users — the App does not collect information directly from children.
Time & Pay Data
The App records clock-in and clock-out times for nanny shifts, hourly pay rates, and payment status (paid/unpaid).
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Banany Premium, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. We receive a transaction identifier to verify your subscription status but do not have access to your payment card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App
- Authenticate your identity and manage your account
- Enable family coordination features (shared rosters, time tracking, pay)
- Process and verify subscriptions
- Respond to support inquiries
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Within your family group: Other members of your household can see shared family data such as member profiles, child profiles, and time entries.
- Service providers: We use Supabase to host our backend infrastructure, database, authentication, and file storage. Supabase processes your data on our behalf in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Authentication providers: If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, those providers handle the authentication flow in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with the following third-party services:
- Supabase — backend infrastructure, authentication, database, and file storage
- Apple Sign-In — optional authentication method
- Google Sign-In — optional authentication method
- Apple App Store — subscription and payment processing
We do not currently use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is designed for adult users (parents and nannies). While the App stores information about children as entered by their parents or caregivers, it does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
6. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to or restrict processing of your information

9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
